An afternoon of songs, music and poetry in celebration of and in solidarity with the people of Palestine Featuring: Elizabeth Logue (Annishanabee Algonquin welcome); Maria Fakhouri (Palestinian/Canadian psychologist and speaker); DJ duo SUBR (blend of traditional Palestinian recordings with ambient music); Chris MacLean & members of The Song Kitchen Choir; Jacqui du Toit (South African-born storyteller/actor); Molly Kane & Hannah Kaya (Wakefield songstresses); Nisreen Jardaneh (Palestinian/Canadian music educator and musician); Raphael Weinroth-Browne (brilliant and dynamic cellist); Zeina Jhaish (Palestinian-born published writer/poet and educator); Fadi Taiba (Syrian-born Oud player) with percussionist Étienne Levesque; and Gabriel and Layla Bernier & Maya Emad (three young Palestinian/Canadian poets) Suggested donation: $20, available at the door and in advance via e-transfer to: hillsforpeaceandjustice@gmail.com All proceeds go to the Sameer Project, a Palestinian-led mutual aid group supporting people in Gaza during the genocide.
